Name: Luke Wilson
Birth Name: Luke Cunningham Wilson
Birthdate: Sept. 21, 1971
Birthplace: Dallas, Texas
In 1996, he made his feature film debut in Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket, but it wasn't until he starred in the 1998 rom-com Home Fries with then-girlfriend Drew Barrymore did Hollywood take special notice of the handsome young actor. He's had most success in comedic films like Charlie's Angels and Legally Blonde (and their respective sequels); but he might be best remembered for his role as a disturbed tennis prodigy who falls in love with his sister in another Wes Anderson film, The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). Although he may not have as high a profile as his brother Owen, he often co-stars with him and other members of the "Frat Pack," which includes Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller.
1. His two older brothers, Owen and Andrew (the eldest), are also actors. Playing ping-pong and basketball together gets their competitive juices flowing; acting not so much.
2. He ran track at St. Mark's School of Texas, where he ranked in the top five all-time records in the 400m and 800m
3. Tennis player pal Pete Sampras has called him a "tree hugger," referring to Luke's interest in the environment.
4. His early interests were landscaping, photography and journalism.
5. One of his weirdest quirks is that he always takes the third newspaper in a stack.
"I think sometimes when you get along with your siblings so well, at least in my case, it can make it hard to make friends. My brothers are people I never second-guess, and I can totally be myself with them."
